This is my blog about items that I'm making or have made either to keep for myself or to sell on my Etsy page: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Prettycat191 On occasion I may post other random thoughts too lol.

Forgot that I had a blog lol
Its been a busy 10 years! I now have a son and have gotten really exceptional at fiber arts, so that's my main focus of crafting these days. Lately I obtained a Cricut and started seriously considering reopening my shop under a new name, selling some of my fiber arts that I'll never use. For me, most of the enjoyment comes from the making. Guess we'll see how it goes!

Creamsicle Heaven
Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted! Things have been crazy busy, I rescued some kittens from becoming feral and found them homes, but it left me no time to work on anything else!
Things have calmed down a bit now, and I made my first 2 sales in my shop! So happy to have finally sold some items online! I have managed to make a few items recently, I found a video of how to make gellatini out of polymer clay, and I made several in different colors:
Hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures! I also made a pen covered in them, but I didn't get a picture of the pen before I used it and now the glaze has black on it from rubbing against my black apron at work. I'm relisting some items on my shop, and I hope to be able to add some new stuff soon!

New Meaning to being Showered with roses
2 posts in one day! Fun!
Some more of the stuff I've been working on recently. I made some roses before, and I decided to make some more to try out some different techniques and color mixes, which turned out really well! I'm planning to pair some up with chokers to wear and possibly sell if there's any interest, and make earrings as well. None of these have been glazed as of yet, I really prefer the natural look of the polymer clay for the roses. If people request the glaze though, I will add the glaze of their choice.
First are my light blue transparent roses (<3 the way they turned out!):
Next up is a pair of light pink and purple roses, which also used transparent clay, but turned out more opaque from a higher ratio of colored to transparent clay:
After I did the transparent blue roses, I decided to try just a light blue rose to see how it would turn out:
This last one I'm listing is actually the first one I made in this batch, a pink rose with green leaves:
This last one doesn't actually fit the theme, but since I made it at the same time, here it is, a pair of cupcake charms with blue cups, pink frosting, and transparent glitter "sprinkles":
Hope you enjoyed seeing my newest creations! I hope to get some more finished (and hopefully added to my Etsy shop) pretty soon, please stay tuned for updates!

Lemon Meringue Pie!
Well, it's been a few weeks since I posted anything, first I was sick then my computer was lol. I did make a few things, though mostly custom orders for my co-workers. This post is all about the Lemon Meringue Pie that I tried a new method to make, I think it turned out great! I don't have a glaze on it as of yet, I haven't yet decided how or if I want to glaze it. The uncut Pie:
The slices in their original places:
All of the little details:
The filling came out even better than I'd hoped!
I have another post coming up too, so keep an eye out!

New pens!
So I really got into the pen making this last week and a half, I've really fallen in love with my new pens! After reading about how to make the pens, I started searching for different ideas online and ran across someone who makes themed pens, so I just had to try that too. First up is a stars and stripe pen that I made out of blue and white clay (which incidentally had an ink burst open in it that I've been working to clean out):
Next up is a pen that I call Birds into the Sunset, which is pretty self-explanatory lol. It didn't turn out exactly as I planned, but I love the end result:
This next one was an experiment that also didn't turn out like I'd hoped, but I rushed it a bit in the end. The metallic green was only supposed to be on the raised sections, but it got into some of the grooves too. I still love the effect though, it's really pretty:
Now this last pen is my pride and joy, super happy with this one! This pen doesn't leave my sight, I've already had a lot of threats to steal this one lol! It's a Mario themed pen, with most of the characters being modeled after Super Mario World from the Super Nintendo, with the Goomba being the exception (they were round in Mario World, I prefer the classic shape):
And some closeup shots of the details (sorry for the fuzziness, my camera's having issues I think:
I think I may have to make a few of these to sell, but they take me a full day to make! This won't be a cheap pen by any means, but maybe I can make some with a few less details so it won't take so long or as many materials so I can sell them cheaper. Guess I'll see what I can come up with!
Until next time! <3 http://prettycat191.etsy.com

New Experiments
Finally got some pictures taken so I can do a new post. I don't have a whole lot of new items, but I wanted to show some of what I did do. First up I was experimenting with some new techniques of mixing colors and decided to try making a pen out of the resulting mix:
As you can see, I've used it some already lol. The lid is a different pattern because I messed up the first cap lol, but I actually like the pattern of the cap more I think! The lid even works to close the pen (and will go on the back when in use too):
I also made a new piece to go with my Mario interchangeable earrings set, a Goomba! I've wanted to do one of these since I first started making polymer clay items. This is actually the second one, the first went on my husband's keychain lol:
Last is a couple more Mario charms to go on my husband's keychain, a Bullet Bill and a Bob-omb:
I need to learn how to make one more enemy character and I'll have a charm set of Mario enemies to list on my shop! Well, I'm off to try to get some more things things made now, see ya!

New earrings!
I haven't updated in a few days because I didn't get anything made for a few days. Last week was really difficult for a number of reasons, but I also got stuck in a rut because the Hello Kitty face that I made wasn't EXACTly like the original, but when making things purely by hand with clay it's not likely to ever be perfect! Once I remembered that I was able to start feeling better and able to get some of my creative spark back. So these are a little late, but here are some new pieces I made!
First is the 3rd and final dessert from Cheddar's, the Apple Pie A La Mode earrings:
You can even see the apples, and if you could see it in person then you might even see the cinnamon sprinkled on the apples!
Next are some Hot Dog Earrings, with ketchup and relish, just the way I like it!:
Last, but not least, are some Cinnamon rolls that I threw together, I'm super happy with these!:
I made some other things too, like another pair of Hot Fudge Cake Sundae earrings for one of my co-workers, and some non-food earrings for myself that I haven't gotten put together yet (I'll show them in a future post, so stay tuned!). More to come, please follow me for future updates!

New Projects and a Special Deal
I made a few new things that I just have to show you! First up, I made another set of earrings that are one of the desserts from work! It's a Hot Fudge Cake Sundae from Cheddar's:
This is a custom order that I'm doing for one of the girls at work, it's not finished yet, but I wanted to show it anyway:
This is a little charm I made to use up the leftover chocolate and caramel "sauce" from the cake:
Which I decided to add to some of my other experimental pieces and make a keychain to list on my shop as a special deal:
Normally an item with 4 charms I would sell for $8, but since this was basically made from leftovers I'm offering it for $4. Hopefully someone likes it enough to buy it, though I'm not opposed to keeping it if no one buys it. :P
More to come in the future!

More cookies and other things
After a long and busy weekend, I'm back! Everyone LOVED the Legendary Cookie Monster earrings, and I had multiple requests for them, so I made 4 more pair for my coworkers:
I had some of the fudge sauce left after making all of those (they took me 6 hours!), so I threw together these Hand Dipped Chocolate Earrings to use it up:
I also decided to use some to test the seed beads that I'd bought a long time ago (no idea what for lol), to see how well they'd stick to the tls and how they'd hold up in the hot oven. The holes showing is what bothers me the most, but I'm not sure how to find small beads with no holes (what are they called???):
Last but not least, I finally decided what to do with the yellow rose I've had laying around (It was the first one I made while seeing if I could do it, and it was beautiful so I didn't want to mash it back up, but I wasn't sure what to use it for!):
So that's what I worked on yesterday and today, and I have more that I want to work on tonight when I get time.
Until next time! <3 http://www.etsy.com/shop/Prettycat191

Creations that I made
So this last week I made a lot of charms, mostly for my shop, but I made a few that I won't be selling. This first set is some that I made specifically to wear to work, they're the Cheddars Legendary Monster Cookie, which is a specialty dessert that we sell at work:
This link will let you see what the real cookie is "supposed" to look like (it usually has more fudge sauce than this pic):
http://www.cheddarsfl.com/desserts.htm
I had some of the "fudge sauce" and "whipped cream" left over, so I threw together this 3 layer chocolate fudge cake while I was at it:
I'd probably sell these as a set of earrings but one of the whipped cream toppings looks like it has spikes coming out of it lol. I'll probably make a dessert charm bracelet or keychain and try to sell the better one as part of it, don't know yet though.
I also did my pictures in a new way to see if they might still hold the colors and not look so dark, let me know what you think!
